Once upon a time, on a warm day in May, a plan of going on a fishing adventure was formed. But feeling remorseful about leaving our cat at home alone, we figured we would bring her with us.
In our defence, she is our first cat, having only owned dogs previously, and dogs LOVE to go on road trips. She fetches toys, much like a dog, so why wouldn’t she enjoy an afternoon by the lake?
Well, I can tell you why she didn’t enjoy it – why, it’s because she fell in the water, that’s why!
I was too busy laughing (after I had made sure she wasn’t drowning, of course) to take a proper picture, so this is the only shot I got, but I think it portrays her feelings about the situation quite well.
She enjoyed the rest of the outing a lot more, after learning that water is indeed wet.
Our kitten, or a young cat I should say, has been floored by the heat, meaning that when she usually plays for several hours during the day, she now decides it’s playtime and hunting time at around midnight, when we are preparing to go to bed. During the day this is her usual position.
We brought a table lamp, to create a good “study spot” for us. Oh how wrong were we. Being newbie cat owners our naivety is forgiveable I suppose, thinking we could use the table now. But the lamp generates warmth, and all warmth is claimed by cats, so our study spot is now the cat’s spot. And that’s final.
